Toyota Trucks – Stronger than before
Toyota 4 Runner was first debuted in 1984 in Japan, and made its way to US in 2003. When the midsized SUV early ran on the US roads it was fuel thirsty. In order to make the SUV acceptable in the US, Toyota made the 4Runner run on a V8. At the launch the 4Runner was accepted but soon rising prices of fuel made the 4Runner a money drainer. The market now was filled with vehicles that had space like an SUV and efficiency like a sedan, and crossovers were born. SUV buyers soon started shifting to crossovers which were perfect family carriers and were fuel efficient. As 2010 updates the Toyota 4 Runner got a V6 engine as a replacement to the V8. Toyota Tacoma was exclusively launched for US market was first introduced in 1995 and was also awarded with Truck of the year title by Motor Trend Magazine. The name Tacoma is after a city in Washington named Tacoma. This Toyota truck is divided in two generations. First generation of Tacoma was manufactured between 1995 and 2004 and the second generation is from 2005 to present.
